Katie McDonald

Katie has been playing violin for 6 years and is currently the assistant Concertmaster of the Southview Chamber Strings. In addition to playing at Southview, Katie participated in the Greater Toledo International Youth Orchestra from 2017-2019 and performed in Europe in 2018. She has also participated in OMEA honors orchestra twice, competed in the OMEA solo and ensemble competition and has consistently gotten superior ratings on all of her solos. Katie also took lessons at Forte Music School from 2016-2020, and most recently performed with the Tri-M Music Honor Society and Musicians for Causes. Director Megan Fitzpatrick says that, “Katie’s love of music is infectious. She is extremely talented and has become a true leader in our program.“ Outside of orchestra, Katie has played on the SV soccer, track, and swim teams, and she also fences for the Renaissance Fencing Club. After graduation, she plans on majoring in music performance with a minor in computer science. Congratulations Katie!
