Meet Our Team

Emily HageDirector of Bands
Emily Hage is serving her second year as the Director of Bands at Southview High School, and is in her eighth year teaching. In her tenure, Miss Hage’s bands have received numerous superior ratings and experienced successful trips to OMEA State level events. Additionally, she is a woodwind technician and leadership coordinator for competitive marching bands in the Toledo area, and is an active clinician on ensemble leadership development.

Aaron M. Draime, Jr.Associate Director of Band
Aaron Draime is thrilled to be joining the music staff at Sylvania Southview High School for the 2020-2021 school year. Mr. Draime will serve as associate director of all band functions within the Southview High School music department. As an integral member of a well-coordinated team of directors, his responsibilities will also include band direction for grades 6, 7 and 8 at Timberstone Junior High as well as grade 6 at Arbor Hills Junior High.

Douglas LogstonPercussion Advisor
Mr. Logston has been a pageantry arts consultant, designer, and instructor serving music programs and affiliated industry since 1989, advising in areas as diverse as program analysis and long-range strategic planning to instruction, leadership, as well as designing and arranging literally hundreds of award winning marching band shows.

Alison MearsMajorette Advisor
Ali has been instructing competitive individuals and teams for nearly 15 years. She began twirling at the age of 8. She competed in both solo and team events at local, regional, and national levels and was an Evergreen HS majorette before becoming a college twirler at BGSU. Ali joined the Sylvania Twirling Stars staff in 2010 teaching non-competition teams and solo lessons. In 2011, Ali left STS to get her Master’s at Ohio University and then worked as a career services consultant at Purdue University in Indiana.

Maxine ClumColor Guard Advisor
Maxine Clum has been the Southview Band Color Guard Advisor since 2015. She is also an alumni of the Southview Band and Color Guard and teaches high school color guard across Ohio. Miss Clum marched three years with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from of Dubuque, Iowa and three years with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, Ohio. Additionally, Miss Clum has marched over ten years of winter guard with Phoenix Independent. When Maxine is not doing color guard, she likes going to the movies, watching Netflix, and traveling!
